The members entering the institute looked brighter than any other time despite the high temperature of over 30℃ (86℉). It was because they came to celebrate a happy occasion.
The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service celebration event was held at the Okcheon Go&Come Training Institute on July 10 and 13. On the 10th, over 11,000 male and young adults, and on the 13th, over 15,000 female adults with a title or position attended the event. On the 10th, the 68th Overseas Visiting Group members who had one day left to return to their countries were present and shared the joy with Korean members.
At the worship service, Mother said, “You have practiced love and devotional volunteer services for others, following the example of God who willingly sacrificed Himself for human salvation, and fulfilled the prophecy, ‘They will be given praise and honor’ (Zep 3:19–20). Remember that the award you will receive from God in heaven is great, and be joyful always without letting your hands hang limp even in any hardship” (1 Th 5:16–18; Heb 11:24–26; Rev 3:10–12; Php 3:20).

After the service, the second part of the event began with General Pastor Kim Joo-cheol’s celebration speech. Giving glory to God, he recited the congratulatory address: “The Queen’s Award is the result of taking on the role of the salt and light of the world, according to the good teachings of Heavenly Mother.” He described it as the “award that all the members around the world received together.” “Let us make more efforts to play the role of the salt and light of the world until the glory of God shines brightly over the world,” he spoke with emphasis, expressing pride as God’s children.

The Queen’s Award celebration performances followed, doubling joy: the Messiah Orchestra’s powerful and magnificent performance, the harmony of a quartet of singers and the joint choir, and the special praise to God by the 68th Overseas Visiting Group in which the present status of the world evangelism was manifest. The highlight of this day was the video about the process of winning the Queen’s Award and the local atmosphere. It showed in detail the value of the Queen’s Award in British society, the rigorous assessment process of candidates, and the honor given to the award winners. Watching the video, all members were moved and recalled the volunteer services they had carried out throughout the world with one mind.
Sister Raine (from Davao, Philippines) who attended the event as one of the overseas visiting group members expressed her will: “I’m very proud to be a member of the Church of God. I will do my best to do good deeds so that God’s glory can spread wide in the Philippines.” Korean members too showed their resolution: “It is not only in the U.K. where the number of people who are moved by the Church of God is increasing. It must mean that many people are waiting for love. We will deliver God’s love to all seven billion people in the world.”
