On May 11, the members, who had earnestly asked for the Holy Spirit of the latter rain for ten days from the Ascension Day, participated in the Sacred Assembly of the Day of Pentecost. The Day of Pentecost was originated from the event that Moses went up to Mount Sinai to receive the Ten Commandments on the 50th day after the Israelites crossed the Red Sea at the time of the Exodus. It was called the “Feast of Weeks” in the Old Testament times; the priest presented an offering of new grain to God on the day after the seventh Sabbath from the Feast of Firstfruits (on Sunday). In the New Testament times, Jesus poured out the Holy Spirit of the former rain upon the early Church on the 50th day after His resurrection, through which He fulfilled the prophecy of the feast and opened the way for world evangelism.

This day, Mother prayed that the power of the Holy Spirit, seven times stronger than the one poured out upon the early Church, would come upon Her children. She also prayed for them to be greater vessels by having enough faith to fully receive the Holy Spirit which is like a waterfall and to become the workers of the new covenant by participating in the work of saving numerous souls who are groaning because of disasters all over the world.

At the morning worship service, General Pastor Joo-Cheol Kim emphasized, “The reason God has given us the Holy Spirit is that He wants us to save all people around the world. The greatest gift of the Holy Spirit is the ability to preach” (1 Co 12:1-11). He also urged the members, saying, “2,000 years ago, as the amazing work of the Holy Spirit occurred, there were many hindrances from the wicked. However, when the apostles believed in the power of the Holy Spirit and preached the gospel boldly, the great work of preaching continued. Likewise, let’s not put out the fire of the Holy Spirit but preach the gospel fervently throughout the world. By doing so, let us please God” (Acts 2; Lk 12:49-50).

At the afternoon service, Mother delivered a sermon titled, “It Will Be the Same As It Was in the Days of Lot.” She reminded Her children that God protected those who obeyed the message of salvation from disasters in every age, including the time of Noah and Lot. Mother also encouraged them to “preach the new covenant of life to the souls who are trembling in fear because of disasters prevailing all over the world and quickly lead them to Zion” (Lk 17:26-30; Ge 6:1-22; Ge 18:20-19:29; Jer 4:5-6). In addition, She planted faith in their hearts and gave them strength, saying, “At the preaching of one man, Jonah, over 120,000 people in Nineveh repented and turned to God in a day. Likewise, there is nothing impossible with God’s help. Believing this completely, let’s confidently go and perform the Holy Spirit Movement to save all the people on earth.”

The members, who were filled with the Holy Spirit poured out upon them at the Pentecost, cherished absolute faith and took vigorous steps to find the heavenly children who will purify six billion people like the three percent of salt that purifies the sea.
