I Can Do Everything Through Him Who Gives Me Strength

Zion Established According to the Blueprint of God
“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14).

After the 2003 Daegu Universiade, God allowed me to realize that we should go and preach Christ’s teaching to all nations. I prepared to go overseas by praying. I desired to be one of the main characters who fulfill the prophecy of God.

As a result, God allowed me to do the ministry in Quezon. In January, 2006, I arrived in the Philippines.

“I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus” (Acts 21:13). With the spirit of the Apostle Paul I preached the gospel day after day.

As I became accustomed to preaching in the Philippines and led souls one by one to Zion, God gave me another mission. At that time, there were two Zions in the Phil-ippines: one was in Quezon and the other in Mandaluyong. In Alabang, an elder’s family and a few brothers and sisters were preaching the word of God. The mission was to find many lost souls and establish a Zion in Alabang.

When I arrived in Alabang, I heard some amazing news from the brothers and sisters there. They said they had been looking for a building to use as a Church. And they found a 3-story building with many rooms that was being built.

When they found the building, two stories had already been finished and the third story was about to be built. So they said to the owner, “We are looking for a building to use for our Church. We want to use this building. What do you think about building the third story as one big room without dividing it into smaller rooms?”
At the time, the third story was being built according to the original blueprint. If you think about it rationally, our suggestion was preposterous nonsense. However, the owner consented to our proposal very willingly. He stopped the construction and destroyed the walls which had already been built, so that it could be transformed into a beautiful temple.

Hearing that this temple was built accord-ing to the plan of God, I became more determined to do my best to please God.

To the Jews I Became like a Jew, to the Greeks like a Greek
You may think that all the Filipinos speak English well. Before I came here, I too thought there would be no language barrier if I only spoke English.

That was my mistake. Of course, many Filipinos speak English well, but there are also many who don’t speak English. Whenever I preached the gospel, the first thing I did was ask them whether or not they could speak English. If they said they could not, I told them I would come back next time.

Whenever I left those people who could not speak English, my heart would ache. I thought, ‘He might be my lost brother. If only I could preach to him!’ Whenever I gave a sermon or had a meeting, I only spoke in English; those who spoke English were alright, but those who couldn’t speak well felt estranged and became reluctant to come to Church.

I asked God for wisdom to solve this problem. The answer was too simple. It was to preach the word of God in Tagalog and raise them in Tagalog. Even though the answer was easy, it was difficult to put it into practice. I had no big problems with speaking English, but I heard Tagalog for the first time here. I did not know how to pronounce the words or how to learn it.

I spent some time hesitating, then I started to learn the language from June, with the brothers and sisters, remembering the words, “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.” Before I began to learn Tagalog, the overseer of the Quezon Church had realized the will of God and translated the English sermons into Tagalog by the help of the native brothers and sisters. With the help of the translated sermons, I was able to study Tagalog and preach the word of God in Tagalog.

The Apostle Paul acted like a Jew to the Jews, and like a Greek to the Greeks, so he could open the hearts of many peoples and lead them to God. Following his example, we preached the gospel in Tagalog with an earnest heart, in order to lead more Filipinos into the arms of God, even though our language skills were poor. Then, the natives opened their minds and we were able to preach more boldly.

The outcome was that we found many of our spiritual family members in June, and we doubled the number of our members.

God Made Straight a Highway for the Gospel
One day, eight people were born as the children of God at a time. We felt so happy, seeing them. They gave thanks to God, saying that they were happy to be with happy people.

Among the natives, let me tell you about Sister Jenny. She likes to participate in preaching whenever she has time. She guided Brother Jose to God and Jose led his son, father and neighbors into Zion, saying that the truth was so clear.

Sister Eden realized heavenly Father and Mother, who are the Holy Spirit and the Bride. She preached the words of the truth with a burning heart, so that she could lead her children and relatives into the arms of heavenly Mother. She read all the Books of Truths and understood the love and sacrifice of God even more, and kept every service during the Prayer Weeks of the Pentecost.

One person in her family, who did not accept the truth, gave her a hard time, but Sister Eden overcame all the difficulties, trusting in heavenly Mother. Now, she preaches the word of God very diligently as a worker of the new covenant.

I come to understand the heart of Father and Mother even more, seeing my brothers and sisters holding on to the truth even in difficult situations. Korean self-supporting gospel workers, who have come to the Philippines, speak with one voice that they are really happy to preach in this country. Although culture is different and they have some difficulties in communication, they preach the gospel delightfully. It is because they are able to preach the gospel to the full here, even if they do not bear fruit right away. In Korea, many times they were not able to meet anybody who would listen to the truth, even though they walked around all day long. It’s true that God has opened wide the hearts of the Filipinos. If we say that we’ve come to deliver the word of God, they give ear to the word. We are so happy!

Alabang Zion has a great goal. We want to become the Church which carries out the missionary work faithfully and pleases Father and Mother.

To fulfill this goal, we preach diligently in the daytime with the same fervor as the Apostle Paul, and study the word of God hard at night and early in the morning. Seeing the brothers and sisters’ burning enthusiasm for the gospel, I’m convinced that we will be able to fulfill the goal this year.

All the members of the Alabang Zion give infinite thanks and glory to Father and Mother, who allow us to work for the gospel and bless us boundlessly.
