It is the height of hot summer in Miami. It is my second summer in Florida, U.S.A..

When I first stepped into this foreign country as a missionary, I decided to do something for the glory of God. However, I feel so sorry, reflecting that I have always importuned God to give blessing and strength differently than the first decision.
In retrospect of the past time, I can feel that God has always been with us, being in charge of heavy and laborious things to give us light and good things.

I would have already given up this missionary work long time ago if I had tried to walk this way by myself without the encouragement and blessing of heavenly Father and Mother. But I've been working for the gospel with delight until now, because Father and Mother have always given me strength and courage in every moment of crisis.
I give all the glory and thanks to heavenly Father and Mother who always bless me to follow in God’s good and beautiful footstep to the end.


God the only hope in time of difficulty

Florida, where I am, is located in the ends of the south east of the United States, being surrounded with 3 seas. As you can guess from the pet name of Florida, 'Sunshine State,' it has a fair and clear weather except hot summer, June to September.

Because of its bright sunshine and clear weather, it is famous for a rest area and also for silver towns where old people can enjoy their old ages comfortably.

In the middle of the state there is Orlando famous for 'Disney Land' and 'Kennedy Space Center.' In the ends of south there are 'Key West' where Hemingway, a great writer, lived and orange farms which produce over 70% of overall output of the United States due to the rich sunshine. And best of all, here in Miami famous as a beach tourist resort, the Church of God is located where God's blessing overwhelms.

Miami is a city established by the immigrants from a communist country, Cuba, and South America. Most of the population, which is around 2.5 million people, are South Americans, so, even though people can't speak English, there is no problem to live in Miami if they can speak Spanish.

When I arrived in Miami, having been entrusted with the precious words of God, I was so excited in the thought of brothers and sisters whom God had prepared before the creation. I started to preach the gospel with a concentrated mind to find my lost brothers and sisters and lead them into the arms of Mother who aches for Her lost children.

However, Miami was so different than what I had thought. Not only their color and language and culture, but also their ways of thinking was too far from my expectation.

The difference of language or culture was not that big problem in the process of preaching the gospel. I could overcome the barrier of language with the help of brothers and sisters who can speak Spanish well. The bigger problem was their sense of morality which was too frank, being rooted deeply in their life. To me who had a conservative way of thinking peculiar to Koreans, such characteristic was a barrier.

Sometimes I prayed with tears, being anxious about the brothers and sisters who gave themselves up to the temptation of the world, ignoring the commands of God.

It was also difficult for me that few people wanted to listen to the words of life of God.

Some were looking for a church only to be supported with physical things. I felt so anxious and stuffy about those who seek God insincerely though they have to learn a godly life of faith and have to serve and love their neighbors.

Whenever I met such people, I reminded Father and Mother. How much broken was the heart of Father and Mother, watching Their children pursuing the pleasure of the world rather than following Them who give life! My heart was touched by the endless love of Father and Mother who didn't judge those who insulted Them, claiming to believe in God. Though the Holy Spirit and the Bride came according to the prophecies of the Bible, people rejected Them. Father and Mother endured and covered their faults with love. I could understand the heartbrokenness of Father and Mother; how painful it was to watch us committing sins in heaven and living as sinners in this earth, not repenting! Hot tears of repentance and thanks ran down deep in my heart.

'Father and Mother, I give thanks to you! I truly give thanks to you!'

Finally, I could give real thanks for the outstretched hands of God who sent me to this far land to make me realize the sacrifice and love of Father and Mother and made me to be able to love my brothers and sisters as myself.

Father and Mother walked the way of thorns to lead us children to the river of life! I clenched my teeth, picturing Father and Mother in my mind who would smile contentedly watching me trying to walk along the footprints of Them. And I prayed more earnestly than ever. I prayed God to let me find the beautiful angels whom God had chosen before the creation in the world where temptation and pleasure, rather than the way of life, were prevalent. God was the only hope and strength to me. I firmly believed that God would bless Zion in Miami.


Finally, God blessed Zion in Miami

This sinner's earnest prayer was answered very quickly. God always gave a hand of salvation to those who followed the will of God, before judging this sinful world with flood or destroying the corrupt Sodom. Such God allowed me to meet the lost heavenly angels here in Miami.

As the oranges in Florida grew to appetizing fruit in strong sunshine, beautiful fruits began to be born one by one here in Miami Zion by God's blessing which is poured like sunshine.

I give thanks to God for allowing me to meet the children of God who fear Him and want to live godly lives among lots of people pursuing the pleasure of the world.
Let me introduce a sister who's become a fruit more beautiful than an orange. She lives near Zion. She is very enthusiastic about finding our brothers and sisters in Samaria and to the ends of the earth for it is the will of God.

She said that she was not attracted by the gospel at first because it was a gospel from a strange missionary from Korea, but that she couldn't deny the truth of the new covenant which was so clear.

I give thanks and glory to God who opened her mind with the words of the new covenant and allowed salvation to her; she had got sick of Protestant churches which are teaching people the traditions of men rather than the words of God.

God watched her fervor on the gospel and led her grandparents, aunt and cousins to Zion. Her aunt lived about 5 hours away from Zion by car; but after being born as a child of God, she moved near Zion in order to come to her more often and be blessed.

Her grandparents, who had attended a Protestant church for over 35 years, ignored us and treated us coldly when we first visited them to preach the gospel. They rejected us for over a half a year. But finally, they realized the truth of the new covenant and are now praying in the name of heavenly Father and Mother and praising Them with great joy.

Her grandfather was very sick before the last Passover. But he prayed in the firm belief that God would let him keep the Passover of the new covenant. All the brothers and sisters in Zion also prayed earnestly so that he could get healthy and keep the feast of life.

God answered our prayer again. He was blessed to take part in the ceremony of the Passover.

After celebrating the Passover, he got better little by little and now is very healthy. He tries to reveal the glory of God, saying that he has got a new life by the blessing of God.

Let me introduce another sister who realized the words of God and received the truth while living lonely avoiding people due to her chronic disease, and now is living a new life, following the teachings of God.

She said that she used to miss the house of spirits in heaven, looking at the heavens when she was young. After realizing the truth about heaven and heavenly family, she said she could know why she used to miss the heavenly home so much whenever she looked at the heavens. Now she is waiting for the day when she will return to heaven. She missed the heavenly home where she was with the heavenly family because she was a child of God.

She is giving thanks to God every day, having realized the love and sacrifice of heavenly Father and Mother who have come down to earth, leaving the glory of heaven behind, and lead us prodigals, holding our hands. She is enthusiastic about preaching the gospel with the sound mind so that she may repay God for Their sacrificial love.

Recently, a brother came to God through a deaconess who works in a hair shop. He was her boss and attending a Protestant church.

At first, he wondered, saying that this church was different from other churches, when he heard about the Holy Spirit and the Bride. But he realized the truth little by little after knowing that Jesus also came in flesh in the age of apostles. Now, he admires again and again at the prophecies of God that are fulfilled without failure. "No one can bring the words of truth like this unless he is the Savior," he said whenever he hears the words of prophecies written in the Bible. He gives deep thanks to God who has come in the flesh for sinners.

I myself give thanks for the grace of Father and Mother, watching him who studies the Bible and preaches the gospel, saying that he will become a child who pleases God.

God has allowed Miami Church abundant blessing like sunshine, watching one mind and one purpose of the brothers and sisters. At first, Miami Church suffered the labor pains severely but now the gospel is spreading to Orlando in the middle part of Florida.

We will diligently seek the lost brothers and sisters with more prayer and plead. We firmly believe that the blessings of God will be continually given to us who preach the good news, like the sunshine from the clear sky of Miami.

"Our Father and Mother deserve glory and honor forever and ever."

This is what the brothers and sisters in Miami always say with thankful hearts. We are all ready to fulfill our mission to preach the holy names of heavenly Father and Mother to the ends of the earth.

Father and Mother, thank You so much for being with us and leading us. In Your grace, our tent becomes enlarged at the proper time and more brothers and sisters can give glory to You.

Father and Mother, thanks and glory be to You forever and ever!
