Hallim suffered a great deal of damage from a heavy rain. As much as 444mm rain poured down for 5 days, and all the houses were flooded for several days: the furniture in the houses were damaged. After the water drained out, over 20,000t's filth covered the whole village and terrible smell assailed people's nostrils.
22 villages of 32 flooded areas were in Hallim. and this place was called the Extreme Flood Damage Zone of this year. The Whole Assembly of Church of God decided to help the flood victims and sent a lot of volunteers to there.

111 university students volunteered for restoring the villages, saying, "The flood victims are our neighbors. We cannot just stand by and watch their misery."

On August 20, the students gathered in Seoul and right away went to Hallim. They set up a tent at an elementary school and began to restore the villages.

The villages were alike a battlefield because of a bad smell, filth and garbage. But the volunteers worked hard without sparing their efforts. The villagers were moved by their wholehearted service and thanked them from their heart.

A Gimhae City Hall official said that he was surprised at a large-scale volunteers of Church of God. An official of a public health center praised the students, saying, "The flood left a scar in the villagers' heart. But they were moved by the students who didn't spare themselves in danger of contagious diseases or food poisoning. They really understood the villagers' pain." A certain company volunteers applauded the university students and urged a reporter to interview with them.

Now, the villagers and volunteers looked like parents and their children. When they left there, the villagers went to the verge of the village to see them off.
Pastor Jeong Won-bo who led the volunteers said, "At first, I worried about the students because they grew up in cities without difficulties. But seeing their activity, I've learned many things. I expect them to have much interest in helping needy people."
