Supporters of Church of God, the leading figures in the Busan Asian Games, have become known to the whole Asia. The Busan City authorities decided to issue a publicity booklet in remembrance of the Asian Games and insert the pictures of the supporters of Church of God in the support section of the pamphlet; and they asked Church of God for the supporters' pictures.


Recognized as nongovernmental diplomatic representatives of Korea

The Busan Asian Games was an international sport event. From every nation, many high-ranking officials besides athletes and staffs visited Busan. Even after returning to their countries, the impression which they received here in Korea through the Games may be lodged in their hearts as the very image of Korea. It may produce great diplomatic effect. So Busan City authorities are putting their whole energies into the publication of the pamphlet. And they've decided to insert the pictures of the supporters of Church of God in the support section. This implies that the supporters are recognized as the diplomatic representatives of Korea.

During the Asian Games, the greatest concern of participants from every nation was Korean supporters' enthusiastic cheering for their country. Their supporting pictures occupy an important part of the publicity pamphlet.


Busan City authorities decided to insert the supporters' pictures of Church of God

Busan City authorities, who were inquiring for some pictures for the pamphlet, happened to see the pictures of the energetic supporters of Church of God. They were deeply impressed with those pictures and asked Church of God to supply the pictures to them.

The Whole Assembly of Church of God received their request and provided Busan City with about 10,000 pictures. All the 42 participant countries, excluding South Korea the host country and North Korea, returned to their countries with the photo albums containing the supporters' activities of Church of God.


Continuing request, free supply order from Chairman/Rev. Kim Joo-cheol

Park Jae-soo, an elder of Church of God, who was in charger of photograph for the supporters of Church of God, said, "Even after the Asian Games is over, we are swamped with continuing request for the photo album. And we are told to help wholeheartedly. We will exert the greatest possible effort."
Pastor Pyo Gi-sang (a representative of the pastors of Church of God in Busan area) said, "We provided about 10,000 pictures for 42 countries-6 photo albums for each country. Busan City authorities had offered to bear all the expenses. However, we will keep volunteer spirit with the support of the Whole Assembly, as we've conducted support activities according to the spirit of volunteer from the beginning."
